Physics Symposium Organized At Gwalior Glory High School , Gwalior

 To give platform to the young physicists to share their ideas and explore the latest in the stream of Physics, a ‘Physics Symposium’ was conducted at Gwalior Glory High School, Gwalior on 26th July 2016  in which students from esteemed institutions from the city shared their research in – Nano Science / Nano Technology, Communication System, Relativity, Astrophysics, Material Science , Acoustics, Gravitation and Thermodynamics.

Poster Display was another sub event which saw enthusiastic participation from the team members. The panel of experts who interacted with the participants on the theories of  the presentations were-Dr.Neeraj Jain (Dept. of Physics ,Jiwaji University) and Shri Ghanshyam Yadav (Sr. Manager – Electronics & Instrumentation , JK Tyres). The experts emphasized that knowledge and clarity of the basics is of utmost importance. 

Events like this encourage the students to learn and understand widening their horizon hence giving opening to the potentials to take the country to the next level in terms of innovation. The presentations were appreciated by the panel of experts and they congratulated the institution for the brilliant initiative taken.

Protection of heritage and maintaining the continuity of the national culture is of utmost importance as it is the foundation on which we build our identity. Essence of life is best exemplified with the rich literature by the writers, poets and personalities who contribute to transmitting the sense of belonging and insight into values, beliefs and culture from one generation to another.  

With the objective to give young learners the opportunity  to explore the body of work by celebrated literary figures of Gwalior, an Inter School Documentary Film Making Competition ‘Dai-Miraaz’ was organized by Gwalior Glory High School to showcase the role of the literary personalities in enhancing solidity of the nation and displaying the affluent ethnicity of our country.

In the two day event, literary personalities from Gwalior were honored in a programme named ‘Arsh’ hosted by the school on 6th August 2016 and the students interacted with the local literary icons on various aspects of creative writing and literature. 

On the second day i.e. on 9th August 2016, young aspirants showcased their documentary films on the illustrious personalities. The intricacies of film making were tested through interlocution by the panel of judges- Dr.N.N.Laha , renowned literary personality of Gwalior and Shri L.K.Sharma , photography and short film expert.

Gwalior Glory High School won the award for ‘Best Documentary Film’ in the competition.

“A day without laughter is a day wasted, try to laugh at whichever instance possible” quoted Dr.N.N.Laha while conducting a workshop for teachers on humour as an integral essence of life.

The renowned physician who has to his credit National Record in India Book of Records of getting 600 poems published all over the country in a year conducted the engaging session that was filled with roars of laughter as the expert speaker filled his talk with loads of practical jokes reflecting the nuances of life.

Holding on to bad experiences is painful, best remedy is to laugh it off. This attitude will give a positive approach to succeed and stay happy maintaining a positive aura. Teachers need to have a focussed approach in the teaching process to get the best output from the students and healthy mindset adds on to the journey of the teaching - learning to realize the objectives of education.

“Humour helps to ease out stress and is a tool to stay happy” quoted the Principal while delivering the vote of thanks as the session concluded.

Each time one reads a book , one is enlightened with new light of knowledge, new perspectives are developed. To encourage the students to turn on to the world of books and explore it, a Book Fair  was organized at Gwalior Glory High School by Scholastic India Private Limited. Browsing the wide range of books – students seemed to be very enthralled to include books in their collection from various publishers.

The first two days the students buzzed the auditorium where the wide range of books -  fiction, activity based, art and craft , sticker , 3 D  etc attracted the students . The concluding day was the turn for the students to surf the huge array with their parents who were very contented to see their children demanding for literature to read.

The institution regularly organizes many activities and events to motivate students to carry on with the inclination towards reading and has formed ‘Katha Club’ also in which learners get a chance to display their potential in creative writing.

“This year we will bring in more engaging activities for the students and give them a bigger platform to discover their latent talent in novelty” said the Principal while inaugurating the Book Fair.

The institution lays special emphasis on newspaper reading that keeps one abreast with the happenings all around, helping one to prepare for competitive exams and builds up confidence for public speaking and GD – PI for securing a place in esteemed institutes for professional studies.

“Creativity expanded through creativity”

Gwalior Glory High School bags the Best Short Film Award at 6th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival organized by Education Expo.

Tackling emotions is an art to be learnt and practice that helps to emerge as a better person, a successful human being and a peaceful mind leading to good health. Specially when it comes to adolescent issues, parents need to lend a helping hand and that will be possible only when there is a transparent communication. Based on these vital issues, a film on adolescent issues ‘Ehsaas’ made by team of Glorians- Somil Goyal, Riddhi Jain, Vaishnavi Ghatge, Ruchika Singh, Priyanshi Gupta, Yash Kohli and Shiva Sharma, won the Best Short Film Award in School Student’s Category at 6th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival organized by Education Expo.

Priyanshi Parmar, Yashovardhan Jain and Yamini Tiwari received the award in the event organized in Alipur- Delhi. The team was accompanied by Mr.Sushil Kashyap and Ms. Vishakha Nigam as mentor teachers. Films from Argentina, Australia, America, Nepal, China, Spain, Italy and other countries were also screened in the festival.

The management, principal and staff have congratulated the team on the glorious achievement.
Aggression, behavioural change, inability to cope with temper - the areas if not addressed  appropriately will lead to various health problems. Bullying also leads to multifaceted problems which may reflect badly on the psyche of the students. Depression, frustration, anger are all traits which need to be vented out but in a positive manner, in a way that will propel the strength of an individual in the correct direction. ‘Bad Anger’ is harmful and one needs to practice to control it whereas ‘Good Anger’ acts as a factor to excel.

Experts during adolescent counselling session stress on adapting the ‘Turtle Approach’ that emphasizes to relax, thinking about the situation and coming up with the best approach rather than instantly reacting to a difficult situation. Also, analysing a situation from the point of view of the parents also helps to settle the agitation within in case of any disagreement on any issue with them.

 “Forums like this help to share, ask, know and understand many essential aspects of growing up. Many a times we are not able to talk to our parents frankly about the hormonal urges, thankfully our queries are addressed in the counselling sessions” responded an adolescent after attending the session.
