Long before humanity knew religion, caste, race and regional divisions, it was aware of the distinct existence of men and women. The differences over time started to define their worth.
So universal was
the scope that United Nations adopted Gender Equality as one of the 17 sustainable
Development Goals in 2015 and aimed to achieve them by 2030.I repeat, 2030.
So, when in 2025,
I came across news articles like India celebrated the victory of ICC Women's
world cup for the first time just last month or a female cadet made history by
becoming the first woman cadet to receive the prestigious President Medal at
the National
Defence Academy early this week, I take took a sigh of relief.
But then the left
hemisphere of my brain makes me recall the last time we were able to use the
pronoun 'She' for the Head of Government in the country!
Food for thought,
everyone!
What brings me
back to good state is the fact that celebrity MasterChef India 2025 title was
won by a male celebrity for a skill long associated with only women.
So, it can be
concluded that we have come a long way and still have miles to go.
But beyond all
this & more, students....... What I wish for is girls to win in their
feminine energy and more importantly boys to be masculine enough to embrace the
femininity around them, for a future that honor's co-existence of different
sides of the same species.
After all, a person of quality respects everyone's equality.
May we all win in
our energies At least that's how I understand Empowerment.
