Launching of Kshitij – An initiative to help student pursue his field of interest…..

     
                                                                                     

On 31st March 2016 , ‘Kshitij ’an unique endeavor was launched by Gwalior Glory High School. The occasion was Reports Day and the event was graced by the presence of Dr.Sunil Joshi, renowned psychiatrist of the city,  as Chief Guest and Shri Adarsh Katiyar,  IG Gwalior –Chambal region as Guest of Honour.

The institution has always believed that interest lights a fire within and motivates to learn more and do more. Genuine interest also keeps one fueled when putting in efforts to succeed. The skills as per the particular interest can be developed to take up the stream of study and shape up career accordingly. With prospects  available in  ample in the professional realm, it is always advisable that parents should encourage their child to pursue studies in the field that interests him / her and not to impose their wish when it comes to opting for the major subjects in the Senior Secondary Level.

To help the young learners assess their field of interest , a Standardized Interest Test was administered on every student of class VI  and the result was analyzed meticulously for identifying two fields that interest the child the most. A compiled handout was provided to each and every student’s parents of class VI comprising of outline of a career path that suits the field of interest with additional information of the esteemed institutes related to the particular course of study  so that the identified specific interest can be transformed into creating vision to explore new arenas and apply them in new and different ways.

“To have a successful career, it is very important that the profession chosen by an individual is of interest otherwise frustration seeps in leading to stress and dissatisfaction. The individual who knows his / her own aptitudes, and their relative strengths, chooses more intelligently among the world's host of opportunities. No aptitude can unfold and grow without appropriate interests, motivation and temperament ” quoted the chief guest while addressing the parents.

The Principal gave cognizance about the vision behind Kshitij saying “Interest can change in the course of time , depending upon the opportunities and knowledge provided to nurture the potential in the particular direction, but given ample learning space can work wonders”

The unveiling of the initiative was followed by Felicitation Ceremony of the students for their scholastic excellence in the session 2015-16 by the Director of the school. The venture of providing a line of thought regarding career to the Middle School students by implementing Kshitij in action adds on to the institution’s objective of inculcating ‘Care Capacity Capability’ according to the skill of the student emphasizing on the qualities each and every individual has.

The Interest Test will be administered on students of classes VII,VIII and IX also so that by the end of class IX  the interest can  be honed and  aptitude towards the career path in the field of interest can be developed.
